Senior Product Architect - Hardware (f/m/d)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Yearly Salary: €70,000 - €75,000 (fixed range, annual gross)

Stock Options: €20,000- €40,000

Benefits: Up to €5,000 annually

Your Role

As a Senior Product Architect for Genus Focus, you will act as the technical visionary bridging the gap between product strategy and engineering execution. In this pivotal role, you will reflect on our existing hardware architecture and documentation to elevate our standards and ensure scalability.

Working hand-in-hand with the Technical Program Manager (TPM) and Product Manager (PM), you will define the next generation of our solutions. You will combine your background in systems engineering with your leadership experience to guide R&D efforts, ensuring our hardware design is robust, innovative, and ready for global impact.

In this role, you'll combine deep technical expertise with innovative thinking to define product requirements, drive conceptualization and prototyping, and oversee the technical development of cutting-edge solutions.

Your Day-to-Day

By leveraging your diligence and excellent problem-solving skills, you unlock the next stage of our products by:

  • Architectural Leadership: Analyze the status quo of our current hardware systems and identify opportunities to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

  • Next-Gen Definition: Collaborate closely with the TPM and PM to translate customer needs into concrete technical specifications and design concepts for upcoming product versions.

  • Documentation & Standards: Champion the creation of comprehensive technical documentation and design standards, ensuring our engineering knowledge base is structured for growth.

  • Prototyping & Validation: Drive the conceptualization phase, overseeing the development of prototypes to validate new architectural approaches before full-scale development.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Foster alignment between hardware design, software, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new features.

Job requirements

Your Experience and Skills

  • You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in hardware design, systems engineering, and integration, preferably within automation or imaging technologies.

  • You have proven experience leading R&D teams or technical projects, guiding engineers through complex development cycles.

  • You are skilled in requirements engineering, design thinking, and structured documentation practices.

  • You thrived in a fast-paced start-up environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

  • Fluent English speaker, with German proficiency as a plus.
